2012 Audi RS3

Well, it can hardly be called “cute”, can it?! The RS3 is chunky and chic and damned fast, too. “A car to which there is even more than meets the eye, and that is quite a feat,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of the globally largest tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group. Highlighting what is special about this new car, he continues “If you are into understatement you get a car that is simply elegant. It is easy to handle in narrow streets and you can also burn rubber.“ Even more so when the ABT Sportsline engineers have also tuned up its performance: 100km/h in four seconds? No problem whatsoever. And certainly enough to keep one’s pole position, don’t you think? And it only stops at 285 km/h. In contrast to its series-production counterpart, the ABT RS3 has no cut-off. Or, as Hans-Jürgen Abt explain: “It was our engineers’ top priority that this car shows a top performance at high speeds, too. If you look at the performance chart, you can see that it is very powerful even near the limit.“ After all, for ABT the RS3 stands for high-speed magic.

The ABT RS3 has power – lots of power. But it uses its power discretely if you are driving through town or leisurely elsewhere. If, however, you want to go at full throttle, in its most powerful version it will turn into a racing car. With its POWER S technology, that is, the ABT turbocharger and a modified motor management, the five-cylinder engine, 2.5l cc, produces no less than 470 hp (346 kW), that’s more kW than the series-production’s horsepower (340 hp/250 kW). 630 Nm (torque; series-production: 450) mean a massive thrust and superiority all over. The RS3 has the same fuel consumption and CO2 emission rate as the basic version. Again, the ABT engineers’ work was perfect. But you don’t need the most powerful version to get fun. ABT POWER does also give you a lot. The 2.5 TFSI strong 420 hp (309 kW) engine’s performance is certainly enough to outrace all others and let them catch a glimpse of the 2-pipe stainless steel ABT exhaust system.

The RS3 simply needs the ABT light alloy wheels. “19 inches are perfect for this car,“ says Hans-Jürgen Abt. He likes the DR with its expressive Gun-Metal look best, but, of course, BR and CR also fit this car perfectly. And all light alloy wheels are also available in complete sets. Finally: high-performance tyres are extremely important for such a fast car. 255/30 R19 on the front axle, 225/35 R19 on the rear one. The ABT RS3 on DR wheels has a real presence then – on the road, too! It’s simply high-speed magic.

Built to be outstandingly quick – The new ABT A6 is a powerful number: If you throw a six in Ludo, you reach the goal quicker, and the same also applies if you drive an ABT A6. Power and comfort make the premium car a perfect everyday companion. Long journeys can be managed with ease, but the fun already begins on short trips. Regardless of whether you choose a petrol or diesel engine, the A6 becomes a veritable sports car with a performance improvement from ABT Sportsline. In the developments for the new model from the successful A6 range, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group also ensures that the character of noble superiority is not just retained, but is accentuated even further.

Thanks to ABT POWER, the 3.0 TDI offers a high-torque and cultivated 282 HP (207 kW) instead of the series standard 245 HP (180 kW). An ABT Turbocharger is additionally used in the ABT POWER S package, giving the diesel 310 HP (228 kW). 610 Nm torque ensure that the A6 can “cope playfully” with any situation. The professionals are currently working full out to develop a performance improvement for the 3.0 TFSI: The petrol engine will then bring a powerful 410 HP or 302 kW onto the road (series standard: 300 HP / 221 kW).

Visually it is also clear exactly where the new ABT A6 comes from: From the back it confidently shows its rear skirt with the typical four tailpipe look of ABT Sportsline. The rear spoiler adds to the elegant appearance of the car and gives it an even sportier look. The side skirts and front spoiler underline the other “sweet sides” of the successful Ingolstadt design. “For us the A6 is an extravagant, straight-forward car, which doesn’t show off yet also doesn’t hide away,” states Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the General Manager of the traditional company which recently celebrated its 115 year anniversary, the A6, which has been further developed specifically to reduce its weight, is a great success: “It is just the prefect choice for our demanding customers.”

The appearance of the new A6 can be rounded off perfectly with the alloy creations from ABT Sportsline: The designer light alloy wheels are available in 19 to 21 inch and, of course, in combination with fitting high-speed tyres. Which wheel you choose in the end is
of course a matter of taste, but all the models suit the classy-dynamic appearance of the ABT A6 harmonically. One thing remains unchanged: Throwing a 6 may make you happy in the short-term, but the ABT A6 gives you lasting enjoyment.

Elegance in its most impressive form – the new ABT A7

Your first glance at the elongated outline of the A7 is a magical moment which you will want to repeat again and again. Like an elegant feline predator, the vehicle shows that it is ready to pounce at any time and is very dynamic. The ABT side skirts support this impression further. They make the extravagant Audi seem even more muscular, it is a sports car in a perfect tailor-made suit. The front spoiler and the rear skirt set with the distinctive 4-pipe exhaust unit underline the fact that ABT has placed special emphasis on “sport” with the new A7 Sportback.

“For us the A7 is a car whose optical qualities also must be reflected in its driving performance”, explains Christian Abt. The General Manager of the traditional Bavarian company, who is responsible for technical developments, stresses that the A7 has to meet the high demands of its owner, both as a premium road vehicle and as a sporting machine. This applies to both the 3.0 TFSI and the 3.0 TDI. “We think that the diesel engine suits the A7 perfectly, as it combines torque and unbridled power with the highest possible economy”, says Christian Abt. With ABT POWER the series standard 245 HP (180 kW) is increased to a powerful 282 HP (207 kW). The torque also rises from 450 Nm to an impressive 500 Nm. The big turbo diesel runs even more powerfully with ABT POWER S: this is because the “in-house” turbo charger from ABT SPORTSLINE is applied and the Sportback therefore brings 310 HP (228 kW) onto the road. With its powerful torque of 610 Nm the machine is both superior and offers high-torque and quick acceleration in every situation. The ABT A7 becomes a real sports car with a petrol engine: thanks to ABT POWER the six cylinders now offer 410 HP (302 kW), compared to the series-standard 300 HP (221 kW).

ABT offers designer light alloy wheels in the sizes 19 to 21 inch to suit the extravagant Coupé limousine with the practical tailgate. The alloys are, of course, also available in combination with high-performance tyres, so that nothing else stands in the way of
driving enjoyment. In combination with the lowering of the air suspension thanks to ABT Level Control, the ABT A7 now sticks to the road even more. Impressive performance, elegance and extravagance now have a new name – ABT A7.
