Pony-Styling by Prior Design

With the fifth model generation of the legendary Mustang, Ford started the revival of the “ponycars” named after it in 2004 – achieving a great hit at once with the powerful and comparably cost-efficient sports car. Obviously animated by the great success of the Mustang quoting the 1960s design, other US manufacturer followed suit and revived the old Mustang rivals as well with the Dodge Challenger (2008) and Chevrolet Camaro (2009).

Company Prior Design from Kamp-Lintfort at the Lower Rhine, which specialises in exclusive aerodynamics components, offers a complete styling kit for the ancestors of the “new” pony car, the Ford Mustang. After installation of a Prior Design front bumper with large cooling air inlets and very low corners, the vehicle front appears much more dynamic and aggressive, giving the previously powerful Mustang an even stronger overtaking prestige. The front cover is balanced by the rear bumper. With its diffusor design, it is directly reminiscent of round-track racing cars and delivered with a US license plate recess. The matching side sill pair harmoniously connects the new end covers and visually lower the car.

The Prior Design styling kit matches all Ford Mustang C5 models up to the facelift (2009 and newer). They can also be mounted on PDC vehicles if slots are cut into the bumper for mounting of the PDC sensors.

Prior Design’s products are made of an epoxy-based plastic fibre composite. With its great surface structure and high stability, this high-quality material enables simple and cost-efficient painting. Prior Design components have a great fit and are easy to mount.

Optionally, Prior Design offers the matching stainless steel end muffler, which, however, has to be installed on site in Kamp-Lintfort. Use of a serial exhaust system is only possible with modifications.

2012 Ford Focus RS

Cars bearing Ford’s RS badge have always enjoyed cult status, but the latest edition of the RS is the very first to wear unique Kahn branding, maintaining the mystique and tradition behind one of the UK’s most famous companies.

Drawing on a proven pedigree for high performance cars, Afzal Kahn’s latest design exudes daring style, practicality and terrific road-holding, which will no doubt win customers across the globe.

Intended to offer driving enthusiasts excitement along with a sense of exclusivity, this is a most compelling Ford, highly developed with unique characteristics.

The Kahn ford RS is in effect, a balance of performance and refinement: there’s no doubting the 300bhp and two-litre Duratec engine. However, this particular turbo-charged engine has a special characteristic, which is that the engine’s pulling power is more robust than that of an engine sans turbo, especially at low revs.

If you are in search of a definitive driving experience, a Kahn lowering module, red calipers, Kahn privacy glass and Kahn exhaust along with the back spoiler, side vents, rear and front diffuser, and bonnet vents, all in matt black ensure a sportier and more intense driving experience.

The Kahn Ford Focus RS provides the ideal showcase to introduce a new range in the Kahn portfolio – alloy wheels bearing the legendary Cosworth mark. A powerful name in the mind of any high performance vehicle enthusiast, Cosworth has worked with A. Kahn Design on a number of projects since 2008. The classic style and quality of the inspirational new alloys, created under license from Cosworth, reflect the reputation and values of the brand.

Available in 17, 18 and 19 inch with fitments on the RS and various models including Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Citroen, Jaguar, Lexus, Peugeot, Renault, Subaru and Volvo to name but a few, the Cosworth wheels exemplify what A. Kahn Design is all about: creating something that is both unique but refined enough to both complement and enhance each and every vehicle.

MKB P 670 for Mercedes GL 500 / GL 450

668 hp / 491 kW and 1.200 Nm.
The MKB P 670 V12 biturbo engine in the Mercedes GL.

Until today Mercedes does not offer any AMG performance conversion for the GL-class.

If someone looks for bigger driving pleasure with his big luxury SUV he may know the leading Mercedes performance tuning company MKB since long.

Now MKB offers a range of 286 hp up to 668 hp.

Every GL driver and GL fan finds at MKB the most sovereign engines: the MKB RD6 for the 350 CDI reach up to 286 hp, the MKB RD 8 for the 450 CDI achieve 360 hp and even 850 Nm torque. Sporty drivers get with powerful gasoline V8 in the GL 500 the MKB 50/8 and 430 hp and 550 Nm which are really good fun to drive.

Those who will be not satisfied with such power numbers those find with the new MKB P 670 the most exclusive way to show in their Mercedes GL 500 the desired high dynamic sports car performance. The conversion to 668 hp peak performance of the MKB P670 means that the big Mercedes V8 will be swopped to the Mercedes V12 twin turbo which will be tuned by MKB on top.

This transplantation of hearts in the GL 500 is not easy to achieve. Even if the V12 fits the engine bay perfectly well. The outstanding knowledge and creativity of modern tuning companies such as MKB shows not in simply pressing a bigger engine into a chassis which was never thought to be equipped that way it shows clearly in the fact that such a conversion can not be recognized as such by the naked eye. But of course everyone will feel the bigger driving pleasure later on.

Optically the MKB P670 engine fits harmonic into the GL and harmonic and sovereign is its new drive.
The 4-Matic-drivetrain, the automatic gearbox, the electronic control systems, the mighty MKB P 670 altogether work perfectly matched and there is never any fear that the big power increase could create critical driving characteristics. The performance is simply great: it takes 4.4 s from 0 to 100 km/h and the top speed is limited at 270 km/h and here stops the big acceleration push by purpose. MKB too offers only the best and biggest braking solution available: at the front and rear axle work 380 mm ceramic discs and 6 and 4 piston brake callipers for quick and safe deceleration.

Potential customers must show two very distinct properties before any ride in their MKB P670 based upon the Mercedes GL 500. They must be relaxed with both time and money. The conversion takes up to 6 months and MKB asks 217.568.- EURO excluding VAT for it. But only if a Mercedes GL 500 will be brought for the conversion.
