2012 Porsche Boxster

Porsche just released the pricing for 2013 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S in UK. The 2013 Porsche Boxster price starts at £37,589 OTR and goes up to £45,384 OTR foe the S model.

The exterior design of the new Boxster draws inspiration from a rich history. The side air intakes are reminiscent of the 550 Spyder. The new Boxster design also incorporates the sum of our ideas of how the future should be. Every muscle of the car is toned, flexed and waiting to be driven.

The 3-spoke sports steering wheel falls perfectly to hand. As is typical of a Boxster, there are 3 circular dashboard instruments.

The instrument on the right is now a high-resolution 4.6-inch TFT colour screen that shows information from the on-board computer, communication and audio settings or the navigation system map when used in conjunction with the optional PCM.

Available as an option for the new Boxster models is a completely retuned 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), featuring both manual and automatic modes. In total, Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) has a total of 7 gears at its disposal. Gears 1 to 6 have sporty ratios and top speed is reached in 6th gear. 7th gear has a long ratio and reduces engine speed for lower fuel consumption. The advantages are exceptional smoothness, extremely fast gear changes with no interruption in the flow of power, improved acceleration over the manual transmission, very short response times, reduced fuel consumption and a distinct increase in comfort.

2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack Price UK

Nissan GT-R Track Pack

-Hardcore GT-R arrives in the UK
-‘Track Pack’ features track-focused modifications

Nissan’s 22 High Performance Centres are braced for the first deliveries of the most focussed GT-R.

GT-R owners are among the most demanding in the world. In response to demand Nissan has replied with the GT-R Track Pack – a new version of the Nissan supercar for those drivers who require a faster, lighter, harder GT-R and one that has that extra edge at the race track.

The new car is called the Track Pack and offers GT-R drivers a more focussed driving experience while still remaining fully road legal. Unlike aftermarket modifications, this GT-R has the full blessing of the car’s creator Kazutoshi Mizuno.

On the outside, the new car features special six-spoke RAYS alloy wheels with gloss black centres. In addition to looking good these wheels give a total weight saving over the standard 2012 GT-R of 10kg.

Additional brake cooling ducts built into the carbon front splitter reduce the operating temperature by as much 100 degrees during track use, whilst similar ducts hidden behind the rear wheels channel cooling air over the rear discs.

Track Pack also features special, stiffer suspension designed to optimise track performance. It comprises a harder set-up and increased body rigidity and has been jointly developed with the GT-R development driver Toshio Suzuki during extensive testing at the Nurburgring. It will allow GT-R customers to achieve the perfect set-up at the track but, thanks to the special dampers, customers will be able to change the suspension for road-use at a flick of a switch, making the GT-R Track Pack suitable for all environments.

The changes that make up the Track Pack are not just under the shell, though. Inside the car loses rear seats but gains two track-ready front sports seats covered in what is affectionately referred to as ‘magic cloth’ by the father of GT-R, Kazutoshi Mizuno. The Track Pack also boasts special blue-on-grey sports seats made from fabric and leather. The high friction fabric is a special material that allows occupants to ‘stick’ to the seats during hard cornering and braking.

A Track Pack emblem also sits on the dashboard helping to identify this special GT-R model, whilst more comfortable seat belts, an enhanced Bose audio system, and a rear-view camera as fitted to the standard MY2012 GT-R also feature.

Performance statistics remain unchanged to the ‘standard’ 2012 GT-R. That means Track Pack customers will still be able to enjoy the GT-R’s 550PS power output, and a 0-62 time of just 2.8 seconds.

The Track Pack is only available in the UK and Japan, and is priced at £10,000 more than the standard £74,450 GT-R.

2013 Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen is adding even more style to its popular supermini, with the launch of the Polo R Line, which builds on the impressive specification of the Polo Match with unique styling touches inside and out.

On the outside, the R Line is distinguished by a unique styling pack. This consists of deeper, sportier R Line front and rear bumpers, a black gloss radiator grille with R Line badging, deeper side sills and 16-inch ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels. From the B-pillars back, the glass is dark-tinted and 65 per cent light-absorbing, while the standard front foglights also include a static cornering function.

Step past the brushed aluminium scuff plates with R Line logos, and inside there are sports seats with ‘Kyalami’ cloth upholstery and an R Line logo on the headrests, along with a leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel with R Line logo and aluminium-capped pedals, while the roof lining is finished in black cloth.

Standard equipment is comprehensive, including an RCD 310 radio/CD player with six speakers and multi-device interface, for plugging in an iPod or other compatible device, ‘Climatic’ semi-automatic air conditioning, a multifunction trip computer, electric windows (including in the rear on five-door models), height-adjustable front seats, a split-folding rear-seat backrest, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, illuminated vanity mirrors, front and rear reading lights, a tyre pressure monitor and, of course, remote central locking.

The R Line is available with just one engine, the existing 1.2-litre 105 PS TSI petrol unit, with a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine propels the Polo R Line from zero to 62 mph in 9.7 seconds, and on to a top speed of 118 mph. Fuel consumption is 53.3 mpg on the combined cycle, and CO2emissions are 124 g/km.

Prices start at £15,195 on the road for the three-door model, rising to £15,815 for the five-door. The Polo R Line is available to order at Volkswagen Retailers now, with first deliveries expected in July.
